Borba is a luxury fashion brand specializing in sunglasses and eyewear. Founded by Boris Banovic, each handcrafted piece brings an aura of style, flair, and polish. These sunglasses are very modern and very desirable, which is why we were delighted to design their new visual identity.
We opted for a simple but strong design to convey the brand's rebellious image. Borba is not only a clever portmanteau of the founder's name, but also translates to "fight" in Croatian. We wanted our design to reflect that.
We took a Metropolitan typeface and trimmed it down, with a heavy emphasis on monospace. The resulting wordmark made excellent use of the negative - simple, but effective.
Borba was happy with the final design, which communicated their nonconformist image. We continue to work with them, delivering crisp, clean, and cool designs each time.
